We sell lightsabers, so take this with the grain of salt it deserves — but we also buy them, repair them, and get asked every week which company to order from. Here is the honest version: who makes what, what it costs, and the one thing almost every ranking leaves out, which is where the saber ships from and how long you wait. All prices are for the entry configuration of a metal-hilt saber with a blade.
How we ranked them
Build quality of the hilt, durability in a duel, price for what you get, and delivery: where the stock actually sits and how long a US order takes. Customer service counted too, but we can only speak to what customers tell us across the counter.

The best custom lightsaber company: SaberForge
If you want a hilt designed and machined in the US from a parts system you can rebuild, SaberForge has been doing it since 2008 and nobody has caught them on range. You pay for it in price and in lead time, and their entry “Apprentice” sabers compete with ours on price without quite matching them on it.
The best neopixel lightsaber company: CCSabers, with a caveat
CCSabers stock the widest range of TXQ and LGT neopixel builds with good support and a real warranty. The caveat is on the label: their TXQ hilts ship from overseas, so the 7–10 business day delivery is the good case. If you want a neopixel replica and can wait, they are the safe order.
The best cheap lightsaber company: it depends where you live
Under $100 the contest is between UltraSabers’ stunt sabers (no sound), the unbranded TXQ hilts on Amazon and AliExpress (a lottery on which core arrives, three to five weeks from China), and stores like ours that stock TXQ hilts domestically. Our Squire Saber is $69.99 with sound and a blade, the same hilt CCSabers list at $135, and it ships from Utah in days. We would say that, of course; the price comparison is on every product page so you can check it.
The best lightsaber company in Utah
T2E-Sabers in Layton build genuinely interesting neopixel sabers with Bluetooth control and deserve a look if that is what you want; they sell online only and do not publish prices on their site. What none of the rankings tell you
Most saber brands are resellers of three or four Chinese manufacturers — TXQ, LGT, 89Sabers — under their own names, and the hilt you are comparing at $135 on one site and $69.99 on another is often the same hilt.
